Inclusive CS Teaching

Welcome! These resources were designed to help teachers in supporting all students to be successful in their high school computer science classrooms. While the strategies are used directly in the Mobile CSP and CSAwesome curriculum and professional development, teachers may find them useful for other courses and curriculum. Each strategy is grounded in evidence demonstrating its effectiveness for students historically underrepresented in computing, but support the learning process for all students.

One section of the site to call out in particular are the set of resources for understanding issues of equity in computing. The background and practice activities will help you better recognize how stereotypes impact students and recognize and respond to unconscious bias and microaggressions at school. We all have unconscious biases that impact our teaching and interactions with students, but learning to recognize and respond to them is critical to supporting CS learning for all students.
